You have probably heard a lot of talk about aura's and energy lately. After all, these words have become common in our everyday conversations. But what is an aura exactly? And why should you care?
What is an aura?
An aura is simply an invisible energy field that surrounds the physical body. It stretches approximately 30cm out from the body. Every living thing has an aura and it acts as a protective layer on an energetic level. Similar to how the skin acts as a protective layer to the physical body.
An aura can be different colours and densities depending on your spiritual and mental health and well-being and your spiritual development.
An aura is important as it plays a vital role in the energetic exchange between you and the world around you. If you do not look after your aura you can become unwell and prone to absorbing external negative forces.
Taking care of your aura
There are many things you can to do cleanse, protect and take care of your aura. These practices are likely to require you to form new habits but in doing so you will ensure that you can be in the world without succumbing to negative energies or feeling drained all the time.
1. Setting Healthy Boundaries
This is important for so many reasons, not just to protect your aura! Setting healthy boundaries requires you to be aware of what is important to you and what behaviour from others you will or will not allow. Clearly communicating your boundaries and ensuring people respect them can help you save your energy and keep unwanted energies away.
For example, you could choose not to spend time with people that you don't feel comfortable around, stop going to places that you know drain your energy, you could take your time before answer calls or texts.
Remember, having boundaries and enforcing them does NOT make you selfish!
2. Use Crystals To Protect Yourself
Crystals are incredibly powerful objects that have been created by the earth over hundreds and thousands of years. They are packed with healing and protective energies that you can use to support your intentions. What's so great about crystals is not only that there are crystals for just about every purpose you can image, but you can also program crystals to your personal energy and intention.
When you get new crystals it is important that you cleanse them of any negative energies that they may have absorbed on their journey to you, as well a charge them with your energies and intentions.
The crystals that are most associated withe protection are black tourmaline, obsidian, clear quartz, amethyst and pyrite. All of these crystals are widely available and do not have to cost a lot of money.
You don't have to go out of your way to make crystals a part of your life. You can simply carry them in your purse, pocket or on your person! You could keep them at home, at work or in your car. The idea is to keep the crystals in close proximity to keep your aura clean and protected.
3. Give Yourself Time To Recharge
Just as a battery needs to be recharged, your mind, emotions and soul need time and space to recharge too. When you have been around too many people for too long you may feel exhausted. Don't worry, this happens to lot's of people! When you're around people there is an energy exchange going on that you may not even be aware of so it's natural to feel drained.
When you feel drained you need to spend time alone doing things that refill your cup! This could be reading a book, creating a work of art, go for a walk in nature, spend time at the beach, have a nap or any other practice that re-energises you.
